![]() Written by Matthew Cannata | Twitter: @PhinManiacs The Denver Broncos have a very good defensive line and can make life a living hell for the opposing quarterback by disrupting the pocket from the very first snap. With the Dolphins offensive line in flux and the Broncos playing at home, the tide is definitely tilted towards the Broncos. However, Mike Pouncey says that he and everyone else on the line are ready. “A couple of sacks have been on play-action passes, so that’s something we really worked on over this week was our play-action pass game and holding up on some of those blocks, but for the most part we’ve had guys play different positions. I feel like up front the guys are doing a really good job for what we have on the (offensive) line right now," he said. “We have to go up front and play a really complete game up front. It’s going to be our biggest challenge of the year thus far." With several young players on the line this season such as Ju'Wuan James and Dallas Thomas, Pouncey said it's important to mentor them and help guide them throughout the long NFL season. "Just stay positive with them. Any long season, there are going to be ups and downs. For a young guy, you just have to stay on top, channel out all the bad and talk about all the good stuff. For the most part, those guys have been doing a great job all year. I’m proud of Dallas (Thomas), he’s been through a lot. He stepped up to the plate and played really well last week.” One player who really needs to step up to the plate against the Broncos if he gets the nod in the starting lineup is Dallas Thomas. Coming off a below average performance against Buffalo, he said that he just wants to improve on everything every week and it's tough to just focus on one thing. Thomas has been shifted around the line the past two seasons but admitted it's nice to finally settle in at one position. “It feels good. It’s part of the game. You’ve got to be ready to improve, from left guard to right guard, right tackle, anywhere. It just shows how versatile I am," he said. "The more reps you get, the better you get, to work on your craft. That’s how I look at it.” Against the Buffalo Bills, Thomas matched up throughout the game with Mario Williams. He said that in order to face off against someone like him, you need to be technically sound on everything and that he will take a lot of things away from that game and from going up against Williams. That will no doubt help him in the game against DeMarcus Ware and Von Miller, who he called good guys and good players, while noting that you need to be alert every second of every play when going against them. This will certainly be one area to keep an eye on and hopefully the Dolphins will give him extra help on obvious passing plays to help ease the pressure in the pocket.
