When Mike Pouncey underwent surgery several weeks ago, many expected him to miss several weeks and possibly even the first half of the season. If you ask Pouncey though, he will tell you that he's on track to be ready for the first week of the season.
"I'm already ahead of schedule. My goal is to not miss anything," Pouncey said. "I'm trying to be smart about it so I don't have any relapses when I come back. I'm just going to listen to the team doctors and [coach Joe] Philbin. Whenever they tell me I'm ready to go, I'm going."
Pouncey is working off to the side every day with a trainer and is to the point where he is running on his surgically repaired hip. Although Pouncey might feel good about his labrum, he still needs to be cleared by team doctors before the first week of the season. The Dolphins will have to make a decision on whether or not to keep him on the PUP list or activate him to the roster before the first week of the season begins
