There is plenty of blame to go around for Sunday’s loss to the Green Bay Packers and Mike Pouncey took his turn trying to explain what went wrong and what the Miami Dolphins need to do better moving forward to get back on track.
“Well we knew we weren’t playing well in first half. We had a great week of practice. We came out with a chip on our shoulder and played really good but didn’t finish the game well they played more plays than we did. We just have to finish the right way. Take a look at the film see what went wrong and get better from it.”
The Dolphins came into this game ranked fifth in total rushing but the Packers contained the run game in the first half. While they struggled to contain it throughout most of the second half, they stopped the run late in the fourth quarter when it mattered most.
“We just didn’t run the ball well in the 1st half. We came out in the 2nd half and ran really well but we have to play a complete game if we want to beat a team like that. They knew we were going to run the clock out and they did a good job with schemes. They made more plays at the end of the game than we did.”
Sadly, there isn’t much more to say than that. The Dolphins lost the game because the Packers simply made more plays than they did when it mattered most.
