The Miami Dolphins made a huge splash this offseason when they entered the Ndamukong Suh sweepstakes and came out of it with a new defensive tackle and face of the franchise. Thus, all eyes have been on him since the Dolphins reported back to work. With several practices in the books and some time to form some chemistry with his new teammates, Suh talked about just how scary it will be for the opposing offense to go up against himself and Cameron Wake.
“I think Cam and I have a good relationship so far. We had a lot of fun on the one on one pass rush. I look forward to doing that all year long and many years to come,” Suh said. “The sky is always going to be the limit for us. Anybody who lines up next to me and whoever I line up next to…at the end of the day, we always want to be somebody’s nightmare. We always want to cause havoc no matter who is on the field. That’s our job. That is what we are here to do.”
Suh will need to work hard during practice because the man he is going up against every day isn’t no slouch. Mike Pouncey has made the Pro Bowl several times throughout his career and will provide a challenge for Suh every day of the week.
“It is a good healthy relationship with me and Mike. Being able to go against a Pro Bowl center every day in practice is obviously going to get me better. I hope to get him better as well. That’s just the way it is. That’s a good thing to have. That’s not a bad thing by any means.”
There were many rumblings from other media outlets and fans in regards to whether or not Suh would actually show up for OTAs since he wasn’t present for the lifting and workouts that preceded the on-field work. For Suh though, it was never a question.
“It was automatic. You never miss practice. If you watch my history and know my history, I only missed one practice because I got sick last year because I got sick last year. I don’t miss practice. No question about that.”
Not only is Suh impressed with what’s been taking place on the practice field, but he’s also been very impressed with the front office and had high praise for them.
“Man, this front office is something special. It is a very progressive front office and I am very excited to be a part of this organization and this team. You can’t ask for more than what they do. Honestly, it is good situation. Now we have to come in and put it together.”
