![]() Written by Matthew Cannata | Twitter: @PhinManiacs Rakim Cox, who signed with the Dolphins in the early part of the day on Monday, went through his first practice with the team on Monday afternoon. If he looked a little rusty, one could hardly blame him. “I haven’t even slept in about 18 hours,” Cox said after practice. “But as soon as I stepped on the field I woke right up. I was alert and was running around good. It felt pretty good to be out here.” Cox was with the Minnesota Vikings before being released on August 4. He was a two-time first-team all-conference player at Villanova. With the recent injuries on the defensive line, Cox looks like someone just filling in space until the others get healthy. However, that’s not going to stop him from putting his best foot forward. “Just seeing how everything went kind of made me hungry,” Cox said. “I kind of had my foot in the door, seeing how everything went, so I kind of know what to expect a little bit. So when I went home, it just made me so much hungrier. I was just training my butt off and now I’m here and I’m going to take advantage of this opportunity.”
