NFL insider Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network was visiting the Miami Dolphins the other day and took a few minutes to speak to The Finsiders. Rapoport said that he senses a breath of fresh air throughout the entire organization with the addition of general manager of Dennis Hickey and offensive coordinator Bill Lazor.
When asked why he thinks the atmosphere is so much different, he said that tough situations make people look at themselves and they end up realizing that they are part of the problem. In addition, he said that the football side needs to work with the business side in order to be successful and the Dolphins are now doing that after not doing so for several years.
In terms of the insane amount of flags being thrown during preseason, Rapoport said that it's possible it continues into regular season but it all depends on how the players react and how they adjust. If they adjust well, he thinks everything will be fine and if they don't, we will see a lot of flags. Part of the reason for this big change was because of the way the Seattle Seahawks grabbed so much during last year's Super Bowl.
Other tidbits that Rapoport dropped was that he expects Pouncey to be back by week six, although it could be a little earlier and that he doesn't expect Knowshon Moreno to play in Saturday night's game.
