In what seemed like a rollercoaster ride early Thursday afternoon, we first learned that La'el Collins agent was supposed to meet with the Miami Dolphins and that the Dolphins were atop his shortlist. Then with break-neck speed came this bombshell:
The Cowboys, probably when hearing about the news of the Dolphins' proposed meeting with La'el Collins and his agent, jumped at the chance to go ALL-IN. Jerry Jones did exactly that, he guaranteed Collins' contract for the full three year term. Reports also said that the Dallas Cowboys were willing to give Collins the full signing bonus of $86K.
Teams designate upwards of 86 thousand dollars to distribute in a bonus amongst their undrafted free agents (UDFA.) A team can choose to distribute however much it wants to their UDFAs or give none at all. Ian Rapoport reported on twitter that the Cowboys chose to give the full $86K to La'el Collins. This is Jerry's World and we're just living in it.
