Rishard Matthews, who was rumored to be on the roster bubble heading into training camp, has worked hard to become more consistent and more mature. Because of that, he is confident that he will make the final 53-man roster.
“It’s about being mature and growing up. I believe I’ve done that. It’s about consistency. Sometimes, I make good plays. The next day, I would be [subpar]. I knew I had to show the coaches I can get better. I think I’m doing that.”
The wide receiver position is deep but Matthews should be on the team when final roster cuts are made. He has chemistry with Ryan Tannehill and has made some tough catches in big situations in the past. It is not known at this time whether or not he has the edge over Brandon Gibson and/or Jarvis Landry to be the starting slot receiver.
