![]() Written by Matthew Cannata | Twitter: @PhinManiacs It’s only week 3 and the Dolphins are only 1-2 but the season is already at a crossroad. If they lose on Sunday to the Oakland Raiders, it might get ugly down in Miami behind closed doors. If they win, they head into the bye week at 2-2 and have a chance to turn their season around. Joe Philbin says that the team must figure out how they’re going to move forward. “We’ve got to determine what we’re going to do. We’ve got to back to work, we’ve got to go across the Atlantic Ocean, and we’re going to have to play a lot better. We’re not playing well enough over the last two weeks to win a football game in the National Football League. It’s hard to say, but that’s the facts. That’s what my eyes told me. So it’s a long season. We’re 1-2 right now. We’re going to have to circle the wagons. We’re going to have to play a lot better.” Cameron Wake, the leader on defense, said everyone needs to look at each other and also themselves and everyone must step it up a notch. “Just, got to go out there, whether it’s tomorrow, each man, looking in the mirror, looking at his own play, and finding a way to do your job. Each man individually, doing your ‘one eleven,’ you know, because regardless of what the situation is whether you are out there on special teams: you’re a gunner, or you’re the back side of a block on defense, they’re counting on you and it seems like, little plays here and there, little situations, where the maybe the ball squirted through, or one missed ball or whatever it may be: you that’s was the difference of keeping drives alive or killing drives.” Tannehill doesn’t believe that all is lost yet and wants everyone, including himself and the fans, to relax and take a deep breath while analyzing the entire situation. “We just have to take a step back, take a deep breath and look at it for what it is. Fix the things that need to get fixed across all phases of football team. We’re not playing well as a team right now. We’re not complimenting each other on [both] sides of the ball [and] special teams. We need to get that corrected and we need to correct it fast. I’m still confident in the guys in that [locker] room that we can get it turned around. I like the guys that we have. I think we can win a lot of games with the guys in that locker room but we have to do it ASAP. We have to look at what it is and get the problems fixed now.” “It’s a long season. We’re only three games in. We have some problems right now but we have to correct it and correct it fast. We have some time to do that. Big game, like I said, traveling this week and then the bye week. It’s a long season. We’ve got a lot of football in front of us. We’re not giving up yet. No chance we’re giving up yet. We’ve got the players to do it. We just have to do it.” The only way the fans will start to stop panicking is if the team wins on Sunday and then follows it up with some wins against the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears after the bye. Otherwise, it will be just like any other season the Dolphins have had in the past several years.
