![]() Written by Matthew Cannata | Twitter: @PhinManiacs The Miami Dolphins offense put up 365 yards of total offense against the Green Bay Packers but the vast majority of that came in the second half after a sluggish first half performance by the Dolphins offense, who only gained 92 yards in the first two quarters. Ryan Tannehill talked about what went wrong and what they need to do better moving forward. “We didn’t play well in the first half. I didn’t play well. We didn’t play well as a unit. [We made] too many mistakes. [We] didn’t capitalize being down inside the five [yard line] which is a must. You play a good team [or] any team in the NFL and you get down inside the five [yard line], we expect to score. We didn’t get that done and we just didn’t make enough plays in the first half in general. You can’t depend on one half. [The] defense played great and kept us in the game. But we didn’t make enough plays in the first half.” The Dolphins’ run game also failed to get anything going in the first half and Tannehill credited the defensive scheme for taking away one of the Dolphins’ strengths. “They were doing a good job upfront. They have good players and obviously we knew [that] going in. Man-on-man, they just did a good job upfront. Down in the red-zone, they had more guys than we could block, so that’s tough. Out in the field, they just did a good job on their side of the ball.” Had the Dolphins offense played in the first half like they did in the second, we may have been talking about a different outcome and the mood surrounding this organization would be a lot different today.
