Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill went 24-for-34 and threw three touchdown passes to three different receivers while racking up 288 yards threw the air this past Sunday against San Diego. The impressive performance – paired with the defense’s four forced turnovers – led the team to an incredible 37-0 victory at home. But one of the more remarkable performances was that of the Phins offensive line.

“They did a great job,” Tannehill stated afterwards. “I really wasn’t under any pressure the entire game. I was able to go through my progressions, from one, two, three, four. The touchdown to Rishard [Matthews], I got all the way through my progression and then escaped. It wasn’t a situation where I was going to number one and then getting sacked the entire day.”

The line did not allow a single sack in the game against a Chargers defense that has racked up 15 this year. When asked if it was as close to a perfect game as they could have had, guard Mike Pouncey said, “I think so, man. We played great on offense, special teams and defense. That was a complete football game. We had a great week of preparation, and as long as we keep playing like that we will have a great year.”

While the passing game kept the Chargers on their heels, Lamar Miller, Daniel Thomas and the Dolphins run game racked up the yardage. Led by Miller’s 49 yards, Miami gained 132 yards on the ground and gained ten first downs.

“Well we knew, any team we play, as long as we can run the football we have a good chance of staying in the football game,” Pouncey continued. “We ran the ball really well, and it opened up everything else in our offense. Our defense played incredibly all game – two weeks in a row… It was a really good football game.”

The improvement from last week’s three-sack, 196-yards passing and 148-yards rushing performance was evident. The line was much more dominant, which allowed Miami’s playmakers to do what they do best.

“We had to bounce back from last week from the showing last week we put on film,” stated Left Tackle Branden Albert. “We had to bounce back and I think we did a good job of that. Everybody played hard. Guys were in tune with the game plan. I think Dallas Thomas did a good job stepping in there for Daryn (Colledge) and we did a good job [on Sunday].”

The Phins will be expecting another dominating performance this weekend as they face an imposing Detroit Lions defensive line led by Ndamukong Suh.
