![]() Written by Matthew Cannata The Dolphins have a lot of bodies at the tight end position even though they may not necessarily have a lot of talent there. Therefore, it's going to be a tough decision when they have to decide which players to keep and which ones to let go. Currently, the team has Charles Clay, Dion Sims, Michael Egnew, Arthur Lynch and Gator Hoskins on the roster. It is almost a certainty that the Dolphins won't carry five tight ends and may not even carry four. We got a small glimpse today as to what Joe Philbin is thinking. Specifically, he singled out Gator Hoskins and said that he has good poise and can adjust well on the field. He also praised Sims, who played more snaps than any other tight end in Saturday's practice. Philbin said that he has a lot of potential. With the Dolphins spending a fifth round pick on Lynch and Philbin liking what they see out of Hoskins, Egnew could be the odd man out looking in when the final roster cuts are made. Of course, the Dolphins can always try to put Lynch and Hoskins on the practice squad and keep Clay, Sims and Egnew on the active roster. Time will tell how this position comes into form.
