![]() Written by Matthew Cannata | Twitter: @PhinManiacs Much has been made about the fact that Joe Philbin has a lot of inside information in regards to the Green Bay Packers since he worked there for so longer as an offensive line coach and offensive coordinator but he has been downplaying that storyline throughout the week. “The game is going to get decided by the players. What’s amazing to me when we started preparing for this game and I looked at the roster, I think there’s at least half of the guys that are brand new or I have no experience with any of those guys. That’s the way the NFL is, people move on and things are different. They’ve got a great coaching staff up there and things evolve over time. That was three years ago, so I know they have a lot of things that they do that are different than what they did three years ago.” In fact, Philbin said that they are doing several different things now than what the offense did when he was there so it’s hard to compare the two then vs. now. “Some of that its hard to tell all that on tape, but there are certainly different things that they are doing, innovative things that they are doing. I think their run game on paper, especially last week looked really, really good and gave them balance and when they can get the run game going in addition to what they have with the perimeter players that they have and obviously the way that Aaron can distribute the ball and make plays down the field it’s a tough combination when they really get the run game going. Certainly last week they had it all rolling pretty well.” Philbin is right when he says that the coaches can only do so much. It’s up to the players on the field to go out and execute and beat the Packers. Comments are closed.
