The Miami Dolphins visited with Iowa State tight end E.J. Bibbs as part of their pre-draft process. Throughout his time at Iowa State, Bibbs had 44 receptions for 844 yards and ten touchdowns.
According to Justin Capriotti (Twitter: @JCapSports), an analyst for the PhinManiacs Draft Guide, Bibbs is a third day selection because he is very close to a tapped out product. Bibbs is a reliable catcher but could use some improvement in traffic. He tries his best as a blocker and seems to have good spatial awareness. He lacks athleticism which really effects which routes he can run and how well he runs them. Despite all that, he is a big target in the red zone and always seems to find a way to get open for his quarterback.
As it stands, Bibbs is a blocking tight end but could provide a team with that big target in the red zone. IF he's able to do that, he should have no problem sticking around in the NFL.
