The Miami Dolphins have met with Utah cornerback Eric Rowe as part of their pre-draft process. This news comes courtesy of Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. According to Jeff Hyde (Twitter: @Jeff__Hyde), an analyst for the PhinManiacs Draft Guide, Rowe is one of the most interesting prospects in this draft based on the question marks surrounding the position that he’ll end up playing. Rowe has great size to be in the secondary, he is tall with a good build, but ultimately his skill set that will determine both his draft stock and his position at the next level. However, Hyde believes that Rowe's best position would be at free safety because he lacks the man coverage skills and short yardage over skills to be an elite corner, but shows good instincts, run support skills, overall athletic ability and ball skills to be an impact free safety. Rowe is projected by many draft analysts to be selected in the second round and Hyde believes that Rowe's ideal draft position is the late first/early second. It is doubtful the Dolphins use their first round pick on Rowe if they want him so if that's their guy, they'll likely look to trade down or pull the trigger in the second if he's still on the board.
