Last week, the Miami Dolphins announced that they had hired Mike Tannebaum as a consultant to the team. The immediate reaction was negative as many thought he would be helping with personnel and evaluating talent. However, that won't be the case. The Dolphins said that Tannenbaum, now a sports agent, will focus on innovation, analytics and sports science.
He will still work out of his office in New Jersey and won't be involved in any of the roster decisions or coaching staff decisions. He is simply part of the new department that general manager Dennis Hickey created upon his arrival.
