The Miami Dolphins held a pre-draft visit and workout with Auburn wide receiver Sammie Coates. This news comes courtesy of Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald. Last season, Coates, who is an inch over six feet, caught 34 passes for 741 yards and four touchdowns. According to Jeff Hyde (Twitter: @Jeff__Hyde), an analyst for the PhinManiacs Draft Guide, Coates has a great blend of size, quickness and speed. He has a good feel for running after the catch and can turn the simplest reception into a huge play at any given moment. His weaknesses include giving up too early on blocks as well as his tendency to drop easy passes along with tracking deep balls. Hyde says the ideal draft round for Coates is in the second round and that's where he is being projected to land. As for a player comparison, Hyde compares him to Mohammed Sanu from the Cincinnati Bengals and should expect similar production in the NFL. This story was written by Matthew Cannata.
