![]() Written by Matthew Cannata | Twitter: @PhinManiacs Before today's game, the Miami Dolphins ruled out Philip Wheeler with a hand injury. Within the first few minutes of the game, both Dannell Ellerbe and Koa Misi were injured and had to leave the game for good. That's when the backups - Jason Trusnik, Jonathan Freeny, Chris McCain and Jelani Jenkins stepped up and made a huge impact and were a key part to the Dolphins limiting the Patriots to under 100 yards in the second half. "I thought Trusnik played a heck of a game. Freeney contributed. McCain contributed," Joe Philbin said. "I said that the name on the back of the jersey doesn't matter. We need to play like a team. I think when you put on the shoulder pads and a helmet and you're privileged to be a part of the 46 you need to be ready to contribute. That's what happened today. Ours tarting linebackers went down and our backups stepped up and got the job done." It will be interesting to see what the Dolphins do moving forward, especially at the outside linebacker position where Wheelre plays. If it was up to me, I would keep Trusnik there next week and continue to give him a chance.
