DeVante Parker, wide receiver from Louisville, is set to visit with the Miami Dolphins as part of a pre-draft workout. The Dolphins are one of 12 teams that he has on his schedule but they will be the first he visits with.
Over the past several weeks, I, along with a few others, have reported that the Dolphins are very interested in acquiring a wide receiver in the first round of the upcoming NFL Draft. This visit does nothing to quiet those rumors but with that said, teams bring in dozens of players at various positions. Some of those visits mean the team has real interest while some of those visits could be a smoke screen. With Parker though, I would lean this more towards being a visit that the Dolphins are actually interested in. Last season, he had 43 receptions for 855 yards and 5 touchdowns. In his four year career at Louisville, he had 156 receptions for 2,775 yards and 33 touchdowns. Parker is rated by many as the third best receiver in the draft behind Kevin White and Amari Cooper so there's a chance he may be available when the Dolphins pick at 14. There's a long way to go before the draft and we'll see many more of these visits around the league over the next several weeks. We'll find out soon enough which direction the Dolphins go in when the NFL Draft kicks off on April 30. This story was written by Matthew Cannata. Follow him on Twitter: @PhinManiacs
