This week, Cameron Wake and other NFL superstars are in London promoting the upcoming NFL season series. The first game of the series will put the Miami Dolphins against the Oakland Raiders on September 28. At media day on Wednesday, Wake was asked several questions not only about the game, but about his experience in London as well.
“So far it’s been amazing,” Wake said of his trip. “Finally get to come over here and get a little appetizer for the main course when we actually come over here during the regular season. Just kind of seeing the lay of the land. We got to go over to the stadium. Got a lot of good fans over here, too, so it’s been pretty good so far.”
Joining Wake for the Media Day was Raiders offensive tackle Menelik Watson, Dallas Cowboys cornerback Brandon Carr, Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Will Blackmon, Detroit Lions linebacker Stephen Tulloch and Atlanta Falcons defensive end Osi Umenyiora.
Wake said that when the NFL schedule came out, he immediately circled this on the calendar.
“When the NFL schedule comes out, I always have an eye on prime-time games and international games and when I read we were playing in London I circled the date,” Wake said. “You’re on an international stage and playing in front of a new group of fans. We have a chance to grow Dolphin Nation and the NFL brand.”
The other games in the 2014 series include the Atlanta Falcons vs. the Detroit Lions on October 26 and the Jacksonville Jaguars vs. the Dallas Cowboys on November 9.
