According to Adam Caplan of ESPN, newly signed offensive lineman Daryn Colledge signed a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins worth $2 million with $250,000 fully guaranteed. More specifically, he has a $125,000 base salary and will earn $750,000 in per game roster bonuses. That equates to him earning $46,875 per game.
Colledge was signed after the Dolphins learned that center Mike Pouncey would miss at least the first four weeks of the season due to an injury. However, those injuries sometimes linger so he may be out longer and is a candidate to go on the physically unable to perform list, which would knock him out for the first six weeks of the season.
As we discussed last week, no one knows where Colledge will play right now or whether or not he will be a starter. However, he adds a lot of flexibility to the interior of the line. It would be ideal if a young player steps up to take one of the starting spots but only time will tell if that becomes a reality.
