During his weekly day after the game press conference, Joe Philbin was asked whether or not Ryan Tannehill would be the starter for the Oakland Raiders game and for the weeks following that. Philbin declined to give a clear answer and simply said that he would play the best 46 players on the team. He was asked several more times throughout the press conference whether or not Tannehill would be the starter and each time, Philbin declined to answer and said that he will play the best players on the team that give them the best chance to win.
When it was time for Bill Lazor to speak, he said that there was no doubt in his mind that Ryan Tannehill would be the starter on Sunday. However, he followed it up with the fact that this is a business where production matters and everyone has to produce.
I reported last night on Twitter that there are serious concerns about Tannehill behind closed doors. We'll see what happens as we move forward but due to Philbin's remarks, there is now a small quarterback controversy in Miami and will only grow if the team continues to lose.
