When general manager Dennis Hickey took numerous players from small schools in the NFL draft, he received some criticism from pundits. However, that didn't stop him from loading up on undrafted free agents from small schools. After a few weeks of camp and one preseason game, we can see some of these players starting to make their presence known.

Leading the way is defensive end Terrence Fede, a seventh-round pick out of Marist. During Friday's game, he had two tackles, including one for a loss. Fede played 50 snaps and was graded by Pro Football Focus as the top player on the team during the game. Jordan Tripp, linebacker from Montana, was all over the place, racking up three tackles and a defended pass. He was the fourth best player on the field, according to PFF. Billy Turner, from North Dakota State, also showed flashes of promise during the game.

If these players can contribute on game day, the Dolphins could find a lot more success throughout the season. In addition, it might start putting the small school stigma to an end in the NFL.
